TripAdvisor is hiring a Business Analyst for our Cruise Critic web site. Cruise Critic is the world’s largest cruise reviews and information site, offering a comprehensive resource for cruise travelers which covers audiences from first-time cruisers to avid cruise enthusiasts. Cruise Critic features more than 350,000 cruise reviews and hosts the world’s largest online cruise community. Cruise Critic was the first consumer cruise site on the Internet, launched in October 1995 by The Independent Traveler, Inc., now a subsidiary of TripAdvisor, Inc.

We are seeking a Business Analyst who has the analytical skills and business knowledge to support all departments (Sales, Marketing, Tech, Product and Editorial) from an analytics and measurement perspective and is looking to join a fast-growing all-star team dedicated to providing the highest quality data driven insights.

Responsibilities:

• Analysis of current business operating metrics, focused on developing the capability to provide client insights to our partners
• Ability to tell a story with data and connect the pieces to tell a story to stakeholders of various knowledge
• Provide proactive insights and analytical support to different internal stakeholders to support effective business decision-making
• Support the current data architecture process with Engineering
• Create concepts, justify business cases, and manage the implementation of changes to the product team to improve customer engagement and value metrics
• Identify key success indicators and determine best practices for measurement and reporting
• Provide forecasting reports for Sales products
• Assist with ad hoc queries and provide analytical support to our fast-growing business as it evolves

Hiring Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in an analytical role (ideal backgrounds include: a similar business analyst role at a web company, a data-based consulting role, or other data strategy type positions)
• BA or BS required
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, involving data analysis, and predictive modeling
• Ability to work with large datasets and summarize findings in a clear format
• Combine creative and pragmatic use of insight and data with attention to detail
• You live in Excel, a SQL client, Tableau and a few other useful tools of the data trade
• Proactive not reactive, with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to take in loose requirements, work independently, ask smart questions, and produce high quality actionable insights
• Adobe experience a plus but not required
• Confident with learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies
• Ability to work at all levels including senior management; and across multiple functions/departments
• Some programming/scripting ability a huge plus
