Responsibilities
  • Work side by side with full-timers to learn how to maintain and improve the critical infrastructure underlying the firm’s technology
  • Debug kernel performance, develop management tools, or resolve production issues in real time
  • Work on up to two projects, mentored closely by full-time employees
  • Investigate and innovate at every level of in-house and open source software
  • Find new and interesting ways to resolve production issues quickly, perform comprehensive root-cause analyses, and integrate long-term fixes in a clean and robust way
  • Build solutions that work on a firm-wide scale
  • Automate as much of the work as possible to reduce error rate and overall workload
