  • A high school diploma and 4 or more years of related experience are required.
  • An IT or technical degree or certificate is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 100% of the time, including domestic and air travel as required.
  • Must possess operational knowledge of personal computer technology, network infrastructure, flat-panel televisions and monitors, cash registers and point-of-sale equipment, and associated retail devices.
  • Must demonstrate general knowledge and experience in end-to-end IT service and support.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and competency in electricity and electronics, including the ability to use test equipment, basic hand tools, electronic testing equipment, and electric meters.
  • Must be able to follow written or spoken directions and provide information clearly and concisely.
  • Must have customer service skills and the ability to maintain productive working relationships with customers and peers.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize assignments, and work independently.
  • Must have written and oral communication skills, including tact and diplomacy when facing customers.
  • Must be able to recognize and understand the functional and operational use of IT signal and power cables and low-voltage wiring systems and diagnose and repair them.
  • Must be able to work long hours in a physically demanding environment and work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to use ladders or lifts to access roof or ceiling and wall devices.
Responsibilities
  • Operate in the assigned territory and perform repairs and services on supported products.
  • Install equipment in new and remodeled sites, handle projects and installations independently, and perform maintenance on supported equipment at field locations with minimal phone support.
  • Use client support applications and portals and troubleshoot and resolve complex problems over the phone with store personnel.
  • Perform tasks individually or as part of a team and assist less experienced service representatives.
  • Travel to customer locations to perform installations, relocation, discontinuance, product-level engineering, configuration changes, upgrades, and modifications to retail point-of-sale equipment.
  • Communicate with customers, management, peers, and team members about work status, potential problems, satisfaction, and requests for assistance.
  • Build positive relationships with product end users and customer project or store management.
  • Perform technical services completely, accurately, and on time to meet customer commitments and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Explain and demonstrate Toshiba’s service and support delivery methodology to end users.
  • With assistance, plan, prioritize, and schedule work to meet customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Arrange travel plans using approved business tools and respond to schedule changes with minimal notice.
  • Document installation activities according to Toshiba standards and practices using automated systems and established reports, including air travel, calls, mileage, timecards, and expense reports.
  • Maintain and manage trunk stock to support customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Drive to multiple customer locations throughout the day and perform standing, walking, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting activities as required.
