  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid automobile operator's license.
  • An active state resident life insurance license.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills for interacting effectively with staff, members, and insureds.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with peers and staff and educate staff to make life insurance referrals.
  • Computer skills in basic software applications and business applications specific to life insurance.
  • Ability to sell life insurance and annuities and develop, track, and follow up on leads.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and life product-line illustrations, features, and benefits.
  • Prospecting and lead-generation abilities.
  • Bilingual communication skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience in life insurance and/or annuity sales.
  • CLU, ChFC, and/or LUTCF designations.
Responsibilities
  • Maximize life insurance market penetration with current members and property/casualty insureds, identify new sales opportunities, maintain production and persistency standards, develop community sales opportunities, and complete required financial, activity, and sales reporting.
  • Provide life sales support and training on lead development and identification to frontline employees, property/casualty Insurance Sales Agents, and other staff who interact with members and insureds.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with frontline employees, Sales Agents, and the branch management team, notify Agents of referred-lead results, and provide leads for membership, auto/homeowners, and travel insurance products and services.
  • Stay informed about changes and developments in policies and external practices, attend meetings, provide input and sales ideas, and maintain continuing education for licensure.
  • Develop an annual business plan with input from the Life Sales Manager, review objectives, and reassess strategies to align performance with annual sales goals.
  • Ensure compliance with NCNU, AAA Life, and applicable external regulations.
  • Work in an office environment and use a personal computer for approximately 50–80 percent of the work time.
  • Travel by car, plane, or other transportation to attend business meetings or conferences.
