Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and seven years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment or field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to provide academic advising to undergraduate students and address academic concerns.
  • Ability to communicate university, college, and school policies and procedures clearly to students.
  • Ability to use advising tools, university systems, and software to monitor student progress and support student success.
  • Ability to analyze retention data and develop targeted outreach strategies for students at risk of leaving a major or college.
  • Ability to collaborate with academic departments, student services, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely student records and communications.
  • Driving is not required for this position.
Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advising to ECEE undergraduate students through phone, email, and video conferencing.
  • Support student success and timely graduation by addressing academic concerns and making appropriate referrals to university resources.
  • Communicate university, college, and school policies and procedures clearly to students.
  • Use advising tools and software to monitor progress and support student success.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and student services across Arizona State University to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records and communications.
  • Identify students at risk of leaving the major or college and develop targeted outreach strategies.
  • Analyze retention data using university systems such as Analytics and Salesforce.
  • Partner with the Fulton Schools division of Academic and Student Affairs to design and implement retention campaigns and follow-up plans.
  • Train advisors on retention systems, tools, and best practices.
  • Develop transition advising strategies for students changing majors or transferring into or out of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering.
  • Ensure all ECEE online first-year students are supported in their transition to Arizona State University by enrolling in ASU 101-EEE online and providing first-year-focused advising.
  • Facilitate communication of ECEE-specific initiatives, events, and resources to instructors and section leaders.
  • Collaborate with faculty and advisors to annually update and enhance the ASU 101 curriculum based on Academic and Student Affairs guidelines.

  • Experience with learning management support systems, particularly Canvas.
  • Experience advising first-time students.
  • Experience advising undergraduate students.
  • Experience advising students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors.
  • Experience running reports and using data to make informed decisions about student outreach and retention.
  • Experience working with at-risk student populations.
  • Experience collaborating with a constituency of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience with Salesforce case management.
