Requirements
  • Current Florida Nursing License
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum of recent 3 years clinical experience in care of stroke/neuroscience patients
  • Knowledge of current treatments and guidelines for acute stroke care
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission stroke program certification requirements
  • Proficiency in GWTG stroke data definitions and abstraction guidelines
  • Knowledge and practical application of DMAIC performance improvement methodology
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and performance improvement plan development
  • Experience in clinical program development and operations
  • Strong communication skills, both written, and verbal
  • Works both independently and as member of a team at varying levels across the organizations
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates stroke care services and works collaboratively with other leaders of the Stroke Program
  • Identifies, implements, and coordinates all aspects of program development objectives as well as business and marketing objectives
  • In collaboration with the leaders of the Stroke Program, develops strategic plans, implements, and monitors evidence-based standards of care for stroke patients.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accrediation, professional and regulatroy agency standards and licensure requirements
  • Collaboates with medical and hopital stafff to provide multidisciplinacry care to stroke patients
  • Coordinates and ensures effective communication and documentatin across the continuum of care; between physician specialits, internists, the breadth of clinical and non-clinical support service providers and the patients and their families.
  • Establishes, monitors, and ensures compliance with clinical, operations and quality performance goals
  • Provides input to patient assessment processes and treatment care plans for the patient population
  • Develops program specific policies, procredures and/or protocols
  • Co-Chairs the mulidisciplianry Stroke Committee. Plans meeting agendas and materials for review. Prepares summaries of findings on current monitors with graphics and analysis. Shares outcomes and recommends plan of actions.
  • Prepares case summaries for physician review and facilitates root cause analysis as needed.
  • Prepares case summaries for physician review an faciliattes root casue analysis as needed.
  • Conducts concurrent/retrospective stroke chart reviews for purpose of data abstraction and data via GWTG registry. Must maintain current knowledge of GWTG specifications, ensuring consistent application during data entry.
  • Responsible for ensuring acccuracy of GWTG data entry via review of available error and data submission reports. Validates data integrity prior to annual data submission.
  • Analyzes GWTG and other data to evaluate stroke program performance on an ongoing basis, addresses outcomes in stroke patient population and opportunites for performance improvements.
  • Develops, administers and maintains educational content for both Halifax team members as well as community education and outreach programs
  • Coordinates and develops patient educatin materials that address the needs of stroke patients
  • Conducts concunent chart reviews, data collection including chart abstaction, data entry via GWTG rtegistry, data analysis and reporting, and develops presentations (summaries, graphs, etc.) for reporting quality data.
  • Periodically conducts concurrent review of in house stroke patients to ensure evidence-based stadard of care is met from admissiono through discharge.
  • Continuously invests in personal and professional growth, education, and development and remains current on all matters relating to managing the Stroke Program
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Masters preferred
  • Neuroscience specialty certification preferred
  • Prior leadership/management experience preferred

March 24, 2026 at 1:09 PM The NASCAR Foundation welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors, including businesswoman and philanthropist Amy Lea France and former Halifax Health Executive Director Joe Petrock. "Amy Lea France and Joe Petrock are wonderful additions to the NASCAR Foundation Board," said Mike Helton, Chairman of the Board, The NASCAR Foundation. "Both bring unique perspectives and a shared passion for the sport, the community and supporting the health and quality of life for children and their families. Their leadership and expertise will help us continue to expand the reach and impact of our programs." Amy Lea France, a longtime advocate for charitable initiatives, brings a deep connection to NASCAR and a passion for community service. Through her philanthropic work, she has supported numerous programs focused on children's health, education, and family well-being. Her experience and dedication to service will help guide the Foundation as it continues to grow its mission and outreach.
