Editorial Director
Summary & Scope
The Editorial Director is responsible for leading the storytelling behind all product ideas each season, collaborating with design, merchandising, styling, and creative to bring those stories to life through Club Monaco.com and all digital channels. This role is responsible for project-managing all aspects of the editorial team and calendar.
The Editorial Director will drive the development of the stories consistently across the website, email, social and digital media. This role will ensure that each story is communicated in the way that is most relevant to the channel/audience driving customer engagement and frequency. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the Club Monaco brand and how to communicate with our new and existing customers in an engaging way, both through words and imagery.
Responsibilities
- Translate the overall marketing strategy and creative vision of the brand to digital channels.
- Generate and execute ideas that bring the Club Monaco brand to life, maintaining high creative standards.
- Build and manage an editorial calendar, helping to concept feature ideas, emails, social and homepage programming.
- Oversee brand voice across channels; ensure alignment to brand ethos manage proofreading and editing.
- Lead copywriting and digital design for all website content, email and digital advertising.
- Liaise effectively between Design, Merchandising, Ecommerce and Creative Services balancing the brand’s creative voice and aesthetic with business needs.
- Effectively lead and manage copy and social media team with a focus on driving a clear strategy and translating seasonal storytelling.
- Lead digital designers in choosing and refining web, email, and social templates that fit email concepts and messaging.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of editorial experience
- Experience in fashion retail and/or fashion editorial is a must
- Excellent writer and seasoned copy editor
- Self -motivated and team-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Proven experience in managing a team ability to recruit, develop and retain team.
- Ability to manage through ambiguity to actionable solutions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Club Monaco includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $125k to 145k.
