Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience at a food, dietary, or related manufacturing facility is required.
  • cGMP, HACCP, and food safety training or certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
  • The role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25–50 pounds, manual dexterity, visual acuity, tolerance of cold storage, humidity, and noise, use of required personal protective equipment, occasional climbing, repetitive motions, and safe work near moving machinery.
Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on quality control checks across production-line, bottling, and sanitation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 111, current good manufacturing practices, and applicable regulations and regulatory standard operating procedures.
  • Perform weight checks; inspect product appearance, including shape, color, and contaminants; and monitor water activity.
  • Verify labels, lot numbers, and expiration dates against client specifications; check seal integrity, packaging quality, fill levels, and production-line and bottling quality.
  • Report deviations to the Quality Team, support corrective actions, and assist with corrective and preventive action investigations.
  • Collect raw-material and finished-product samples; complete forms; track certificate of analysis turnaround; and communicate status.
  • Label and store retention samples and prepare samples for external laboratory testing as needed.
  • Conduct adenosine triphosphate swab testing and verify sanitation before production begins.
  • Perform daily verification of scales, Brix, pH, water activity, temperature, and humidity, and assist with metal-detector calibration.
  • Complete pre-operational inspections and confirm proper personal protective equipment use across production.
  • Complete quality assurance sections of batch records, logbooks, checklists, and forms accurately and legibly without blanks.
  • Upload quality-control information into the proper files and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs and audits for 21 CFR Part 111 compliance.
  • Complete change controls, deviations, and investigations.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures, forms, and controlled documents.
  • Support third-party and regulatory audits.
  • Communicate results, recommend process improvements, and provide feedback to management.
  • Train staff and contractors as needed.
  • Follow safety, current good manufacturing practices, HACCP, and food-defense practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
