Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 6 years of relevant engineering experience in power systems or related fields.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical customer-facing environments.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% annually.
  • Practical experience with industrial inverters, uninterruptible power supply systems, rectifiers, and power electronics in high-availability, mission-critical settings.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting commissioning of complex power conversion and storage systems, including system integration, functional testing, and customer acceptance.
  • Experience managing technical customer relationships, leading design and operational reviews, and representing company technical capabilities externally.
  • Ability to present and communicate complex technical topics clearly and confidently to technical teams and senior customer leadership.
  • Ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Ability to align diverse internal stakeholders around customer priorities.
  • Sound decision-making in high-stakes, time-sensitive field environments.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead technical point of contact for customers throughout North America and build long-term partnerships with customer engineering and operations teams.
  • Lead technical discussions with customer project and technical leaders to resolve issues and develop technical solutions in response to requests for information and requests for quotation.
  • Represent the company's technical capabilities and product value proposition to customers.
  • Maintain an ongoing technical relationship with customers after system commissioning and serve as a point of escalation for operational questions and technical issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for field issues involving power conversion systems, inverters, and battery energy storage systems in live, mission-critical environments.
  • Monitor system performance trends and identify opportunities to optimize reliability, availability, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with service teams to ensure timely, high-quality resolution of post-commissioning technical issues.
  • Address technical deviations, manage and track fault reports through closure, and provide technical support to site engineers remotely and on-site.
  • Conduct periodic technical reviews and site visits to assess system health and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Document field findings, resolutions, and lessons learned to support product and service improvement.
  • Communicate technical requirements, field feedback, and customer priorities across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, and Leadership.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment so customer commitments are met on time, on budget, and to specification.
  • Produce technical documentation, including post-commissioning site assessments, root cause analysis summaries, and customer-facing technical specifications.
  • Maintain records of open technical issues, field performance trends, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Contribute to commissioning procedures, field service guidelines, and internal knowledge-base resources.
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on key-account technical status, field issues, and customer health indicators.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with power monitoring platforms and energy management tools.
  • Familiarity with North American and international standards, including the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, IEEE, IEC, and ASHRAE.
  • Prior experience in field engineering, application engineering, or technical account management.
  • Experience with GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage or equivalent power conversion and energy storage product lines.
  • Experience working with large-scale industrial or utility-scale power conversion and storage operators.

GE Vernova and Quanta Services poised to weather market crash with strong backlogs and AI-driven growth

GE Vernova and Quanta Services are positioned as resilient stocks that could withstand market volatility, according to a new analysis. Both companies are benefiting from surging demand for electrical infrastructure driven by AI and data centre expansion. GE Vernova, spun off from General Electric in 2024, has seen its stock rise more than sixfold since debut. The company's backlog expanded 37% year over year to $176.3 billion at the end of Q2 2026, nearly four times its projected annual revenue of $46.2 billion. GE Vernova hires Rivian CFO Claire McDonough, leaving EV maker without clear successor

GE Vernova has hired Claire McDonough as CFO, effective 1 January, leaving electric vehicle maker Rivian to find her successor. McDonough joined Rivian in January 2021 and helped take the company public through a $13.7 billion IPO that November. She also negotiated Rivian's technology joint venture with Volkswagen, which agreed to invest up to $5.8 billion. Rivian shares fell more than 6% following the announcement, whilst GE Vernova shares declined about 3%. Analysts cited Rivian's lack of a clear succession plan as a factor weighing on its shares. Derek Mulvey, Rivian's VP of finance, is expected to serve as interim CFO after McDonough's departure. McDonough will join GE Vernova in November, succeeding Kenneth Parks, who is retiring.

SpaceX builds turbine foundry to break AI power bottleneck, cut GE Vernova wait times by 18 months

Elon Musk's SpaceX is building a foundry in Bastrop, Texas, to manufacture blades and vanes for industrial gas turbines, according to The Information. GE Vernova and LS Electric form JV to target South Korea's HVDC market
