Requirements
  • Actively pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • Experience with Solidworks (basic principles of design, sheet metal, FEA, etc.)
  • Experience prototyping and using tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers, mills, lathes, etc.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be curious, eager, open to learning, and independent
  • Ability to spec motors, sensors, and off-the-shelf parts
  • Strong grasp of mechanical systems and mechanisms
  • DFM experience within sheet metal, weldments, machined parts
Responsibilities
  • Design parts and assemblies according to system/sub-system requirements.
  • Transform tested conceptual solutions into robust product designs in coordination with engineering, operations, the customer and contract manufacturers
  • Design and release components and systems using SolidWorks
  • Develop production and support documentation including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings, and maintenance instructions.
  • Work with our suppliers, machinists, contract manufacturers, and shippers to guarantee that the right electromechanical system is assembled and functional in the right place at the right time.
  • Perform test and verification of prototype systems.
  • Bring prototype solutions to life with rapid prototyping tools including 3D printer, laser cutter, mill, etc.
