Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience, including 3+ years at law firms and 3+ years in-house at high growth technology companies (strong preference for SaaS or B2B businesses)
  • Experience providing tactical, day-to-day legal support while also having the ability to zoom out and think strategically
  • Proficiency in commercial B2B SaaS transactions, including direct, channel partnerships, and strategic transactions
  • Deep expertise in tech-related legal matters, including SaaS agreements and data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Must understand and be able to articulate the financial and regulatory impact of our business decisions to internal and external stakeholders
  • An appetite to learn new areas of the legal function that you previously didn’t have exposure to
  • Experience with managing external counsel
  • Exceptional judgment and integrity
  • Strong sense of initiative & ownership
  • JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar
Responsibilities
  • Advise the executive leadership team on legal matters
  • Draft, structure, review, negotiate, and advise on various inbound and outbound commercial agreements, including customer and channel sales transactions that drive the company’s revenues, strategic partnerships, NDAs, and vendor agreements
  • Manage, influence, evolve, and scale Scribe’s commercial contracting function, including operational aspects, to drive excellence and efficiency in contracting
  • Balance and prioritize the strategic and complex projects you are leading and the contracts you're negotiating
  • Work cross-functionally with revenue, partnerships, and finance teams to navigate customer requirements while balancing Scribe’s operational process and need for scalability, becoming a trusted advisor to the team
  • Provide guidance on data privacy and protection issues, ensuring products and services adhere to relevant regulations
  • Manage corporate legal matters, including equity transactions and governance matters
  • Advise on employment-related matters, including HR policies, employment agreements, and compliance with employment laws
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization, providing legal insights to support strategic initiatives and product development
