About The Role
As a Nuro AI Homologation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and certification of component level systems and vehicles to support overall compliance on new and existing programs. This role requires a clear understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to the US market. You will interfacing with regulatory bodies and type approval authorities on Level 5 ASD subject matter discussions and effectively communicate the learnings to the Nuro AI engineering teams such as Industrial Design, Studio, Design Engineering, and Engineering Validation Testing.
About the Work
- Collaborate with internal and external councils to understand and track changes in regulations and their impact to homologation, and identify regulatory requirements .
- Establish engineering targets translated from regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure the completion of self-certification/homologation activities in a timely manner.
- Identify applicable non-test methods to demonstrate compliance when testing is not required
- Identify applicable test configurations, develop detailed test plans, and assist in scheduling certification tests for each applicable regulation.
- Assist manufacturing with tasks such as labeling, COP, annual Homologation updates, and related regulatory reporting requirements.
About You
- 3 years Homologation experience within the automotive industry, preferably OEM or Tier 1.
- Project management experience with cross functional engineering teams
- Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical or equivalent.
- Ability to travel within North America and occasional international travel.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills with the highest level of integrity
- 2 years CAD design experience, such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and/or NX.
- Experience writing concise, clear, and detailed engineering documentation.
Bonus Points
- Experience reporting to senior management and report accurate information in a clear and concise manner
- A clear understanding of global regulatory requirements including active and passive safety, and environmental regulations applicable to electric vehicles
- Clear working knowledge of vehicle design and functionality
- Experience at a startup company

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $138,225 and $207,575 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
