Requirements
  • A master's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical subject area is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing production-scale models for soccer or sports betting is required.
  • Expertise in probability theory, machine learning, inferential statistics, Bayesian statistics, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing and delivering effective machine learning and/or statistical models for business needs in sports or sports betting is required.
  • Experience with relational SQL and Python is required.
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related continuous integration and continuous delivery processes is required.
  • Experience working in Amazon Web Services environments is required.
  • A proven track record of leadership and the ability to partner with teams to solve complex problems by taking a broad perspective and identifying innovative solutions is required.
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences are required.
Responsibilities
  • Ideate, develop, and improve machine learning and statistical models that drive core algorithms for sports betting products.
  • Develop contextualized feature sets using sports-specific domain knowledge.
  • Contribute to all stages of model development, from creating proof-of-concepts and beta testing to partnering with data engineering and product teams to deploy new models.
  • Improve model performance through rigorous offline and online experimentation.
  • Analyze results and outputs to assess model performance and identify model weaknesses for directing development efforts.
  • Adhere to software engineering best practices and contribute to shared code repositories.
  • Document modeling work and present it to stakeholders and technical and non-technical partners.
