Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to six years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience is required, preferably in textile manufacturing involving yarn spinning or fabric knitting.
  • Experience maintaining production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience with bearings, drives, gears, belts, and precision adjustments is required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems including motors, sensors, and basic controls, with the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, is required.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System or preventive-maintenance asset system is required.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems under pressure is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Ability to communicate with production and maintenance personnel is required.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required to support production is required.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair textile yarn spinning machines, including open-end and vortex machines, and circular fabric knitting machines.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production equipment.
  • Diagnose the root causes of machine failures and implement corrective actions to restore production quickly.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to the plant's preventive-maintenance program and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and replace wear parts on spinning and knitting equipment.
  • Identify potential issues during preventive maintenance and address them before they cause downtime.
  • Respond to breakdown calls and production emergencies.
  • Diagnose faults under time pressure and restore machines to safe, productive operation with minimal delay.
  • Communicate estimated repair times and status updates to Production and Supervision.
  • Record work orders, parts used, labor hours, and equipment history in the plant's computerized maintenance management or preventive-maintenance asset management system.
  • Close work orders properly and maintain up-to-date asset records.
  • Provide feedback on task effectiveness and equipment condition to support continuous improvement of the preventive-maintenance program.
  • Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and mill safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Assist with installation, modification, or upgrading of machinery as required.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience maintaining yarn spinning frames and circular or flat knitting machines is preferred.
  • Basic programmable logic controller troubleshooting knowledge is preferred.
  • Forklift certification and electrical certification are preferred.
