Requirements
  • One to two years of experience creating animations or motion-based content, including professional, academic, or portfolio-based experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Vyond is required.
  • Ability to translate abstract or educational concepts into engaging visual narratives.
  • Basic understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with Google tools, including Docs, Slides, and Sheets.
  • Commitment to approximately five to ten hours per week.
  • Ability to work in a remote, volunteer-based environment.
Responsibilities
  • Create animated videos using Vyond for educational, institutional, and promotional purposes.
  • Transform scripts, concepts, or raw ideas into compelling visual storytelling.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Social Media, and Program teams to align animations with campaign goals and brand voice.
  • Adapt animations for students, volunteers, donors, and partners.
  • Edit and revise animations based on feedback and evolving needs.
  • Ensure consistency with JerseySTEM’s visual identity and messaging.
  • Organize and maintain animation assets and templates for reuse.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with video editing or design tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite.
  • Diligent work ethic, creativity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.

JerseySTEM runs hands-on, project-based STEM programs for underrepresented middle school girls in New Jersey. Through partnerships with corporate sponsors, youth organizations, and college volunteers, it delivers experiences like robotics and climate action projects that build critical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and self-esteem. Programs are designed and carried out in collaboration with sponsors and partner groups, ensuring access to STEM learning in community settings. JerseySTEM differentiates itself by specifically serving NJ girls at the middle-school level through a grassroots, nonprofit model that links classroom experiences with real-world applications and corporate sponsorships to expand the talent pipeline. Its goal is to reach 2,600 girls by 2026, empowering them with tools and knowledge to pursue STEM futures and contribute to a diverse, inclusive field.
