Requirements
  • Be willing to obtain a Florida medical license and DEA certification.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care for pediatric infectious disease patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with pediatric and adult ID leadership to advance the Pediatric Antibiotic Stewardship Program: Conduct structured rounds with clinical pharmacists; Promote, advise, and guide the development of successful local antimicrobial stewardship initiatives; Participate in the development, education, and communication of infectious disease-related protocols to improve antibiotic decisions; Analyze antimicrobial usage and implement strategies to optimize therapy and reduce costs.
  • Participate in the Antimicrobial and Anti-Infective Committee and other relevant committees.
  • Deliver high-quality care for children and adolescents living with HIV, including management of primary and specialty HIV-related issues.
  • Support infection control programs: Develop, review, and implement policies to minimize nosocomial infections; Review and update electronic order sets and institutional protocols as needed.
  • Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Mentor trainees on quality improvement and research projects.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with other division faculty.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, including clinical, translational, or basic research, with opportunities for publications and grant development.
Desired Qualifications
  • MD/DO degree.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
  • Be willing to obtain a Florida medical license and DEA certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in pediatric infectious diseases.
  • Familiarity with infectious complications in pediatric solid organ transplant patients.
  • Research productivity in clinical, translational, or basic studies.
  • Prior experience in HIV care, antibiotic stewardship, and infection control.
  • Familiarity with transplant infectious diseases.
