UNIQLO to relocate Brisbane flagship with larger Queen Street Mall store. UNIQLO will relocate its Queen Street Mall store in Brisbane later this year, expanding its footprint with a larger flagship store as the global apparel retailer strengthens its presence in Queensland. The new store will remain within Queen Street Mall and replace the existing location, which opened in 2016 as UNIQLO's first store in Queensland. Spanning more than 3,600sqm across two levels, the new flagship will feature UNIQLO's global store design and offer its full LifeWear range for men, women, children and babies. The retailer also plans to introduce new in-store experiences to Queensland for the first time. UNIQLO said the relocation is designed to provide customers with a larger and more modern shopping environment while expanding access to its product range in Brisbane's CBD. "We are very grateful for the loyal support of Brisbane customers since opening here ten years ago in 2016. Now, our team looks forward to bringing UNIQLO LifeWear, known for its beautiful design and high quality, to even more customers here through a larger store footprint."
AI is becoming your new shopping assistant. Reliance Retail has launched an AI-powered shopping assistant in Yousta and Trends stores, helping customers get personalised fashion recommendations through a QR code scan. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is slowly changing the way people shop for clothes. Earlier, customers depended on sales staff for help with colours, sizes, matching outfits and fashion advice. Today, AI can provide similar suggestions within seconds. Reliance Retail has introduced an AI-powered shopping assistant for its youth fashion brand Yousta and also for Trends stores. In February 2026, the company launched a pilot programme called Smart Discovery. The aim is to combine the convenience of online shopping with the experience of visiting a physical store. Customers can scan a QR code inside the store using their smartphones to access the AI assistant. It can suggest clothes based on a customer's style, recommend complete outfits, help find products available in the store and even search items that are not displayed on the shelves. The system also learns from customer preferences to give better recommendations over time. Technology has been part of Yousta stores since the brand was launched in 2023. Many stores already have QR-enabled information screens, self-checkout counters, free Wi-Fi and mobile charging stations to make shopping quicker and easier, especially for young customers. Globally, brands such as Zara, H&M, Uniqlo and Nike have already introduced smart mirrors, virtual fitting rooms and AI-based recommendation systems. However, Reliance Retail's Smart Discovery is among the first large-scale efforts in India to bring AI-powered personalised shopping advice into physical fashion stores through a QR-code system. Experts believe AI will support store staff rather than replace them, as many customers still prefer speaking to a salesperson for important purchases like weddings and festivals. In the future, shoppers may receive instant styling tips, size recommendations and product information on their phones while shopping. At the Reliance Industries AGM in June 2026, Chairman Mukesh Ambani said the company is entering a "Deeptech Intelligence Era", where AI will play a much bigger role across retail operations. As AI continues to grow, it is expected to become a common part of the shopping experience in clothing stores.
UNIQLO launches its first permanent hijab collection and reinforces its commitment to inclusive fashion. * Published 30th July 2026 Articles de sport UNIQLO is taking another step in its diversification strategy. The Japanese ready-to-wear brand has announced the launch of its first permanent hijab collection under its own name, an initiative that marks a turning point in its offering dedicated to accessible fashion. Initially available in Indonesia from August 10, 2026, this new range complements the LifeWear universe, UNIQLO's philosophy focused on functional, comfortable, and affordable clothing for everyone. Contrary to some information circulating on social media, this is not UNIQLO's first foray into the world of hijab. As early as 2015, the brand had collaborated with the British-Japanese designer Hana Tajima, a recognized figure in modest fashion, to develop a collection of clothing and accessories for Muslim women. This collaboration, praised for its inclusive approach, already included several hijab models marketed in certain Asian markets, before being extended to other countries. The new feature for 2026 is that these products will now be offered directly under the brand name. UNIQLOwithout partnering with an external designer. The collection will include several items designed to meet everyday needs, including... AIRism hijabs with UV protection, models in georgetteversions in satin as well as under hijabs (inner hijab). True to the brand's DNA, this range emphasizes comfort, breathable materials and simple design. With over 240 million Muslims, Indonesia is the world's largest market for inclusive fashion. In recent years, this sector has experienced continuous growth, driven by increasing demand for clothing that combines contemporary aesthetics, textile innovation, and respect for personal beliefs. By adding the hijab to its permanent catalog, UNIQLO also confirms its commitment to offering collections adapted to the diversity of its customers. This strategy is part of a broader trend observed in the fashion industry, where several major brands are now developing products designed to meet specific cultural and religious needs, while maintaining a universal approach to style. While no information has yet been released regarding a launch in Europe or other international markets, this new collection could quickly appeal to customers far beyond Southeast Asia. With this initiative, UNIQLO continues to develop its LifeWear concept, focusing on inclusive, technical clothing adapted to contemporary lifestyles. Stay tuned!
