Electric and Justworks deepen partnership to turn workforce events into automated IT actions. Blog Posts Read Time: 5 minutes Published: August 4, 2026 New single sign-on access and international device provisioning make it easier than ever for small businesses on Justworks to align HR and IT, helping eliminate busywork slowing them down Today, Electric announced a deeper, more embedded partnership with Justworks, the platform that helps small and midsize businesses grow with confidence. Since Justworks and Electric began working together in April 2025, growth-stage businesses using Justworks have turned to Electric to bring order to the IT side of running a business. Starting August 3, that experience gets even simpler, with a new single sign-on (SSO) integration, embedded workflows, and expanded international device provisioning. "Small business leaders wear a lot of hats, and managing IT shouldn't have to be one of them," said Sarah Fillmore, VP of Partnerships at Justworks. "By bringing Electric directly into the Justworks experience, we're making it even easier for customers to get the IT support they need without adding more work to their day. It's a natural next step in our partnership and another way we're helping small businesses spend less time on administrative work and more time growing their teams." Every new hire shouldn't feel like a fire drill. A new hire doesn't just need a place on the org chart, they need a laptop, application access, and a secure login, often before their first day even starts. When those workflows live in separate systems, HR teams (or even founders) end up doing the work of an IT department they don't have. Streamlined operations across HR and IT can drive impact across every organization, and this expanded partnership is built to prove it. This next phase introduces three upgrades designed to remove friction from the very first click: Single sign-on (SSO): Justworks admins can now land directly in their Electric experience without additional form fills or extra login steps. Once authenticated within Justworks, purchasing and managing assets becomes more seamless, meaning less setup time and quicker resolution. Embedded workflows: Electric is now more deeply embedded in Justworks, providing secure visibility into company devices without having to leave the platform. Admins can open an employee's profile to instantly see the devices and assets assigned to them, and then take action on the spot- whether that's assigning a laptop to a new hire or retrieving equipment from a departing one. Quick-action workflows and contextual IT components appear throughout Justworks, putting the right information where the admin is already working. International device provisioning: For small businesses trusting Justworks to help them hire around the world, Electric now makes it simple to procure, ship, and provision devices to employees wherever they are. Businesses get clear visibility into device status and inventory across their global workforce, without needing to manage local vendors or shipping logistics themselves. Together, these upgrades mean that the moment a workforce event happens (a new hire accepts an offer, an employee relocates, a team member's role changes) the right IT action can follow more automatically. The gap between HR and IT is costing more than time. There is a real gap between HR and IT teams, Electric's own research underscores the stakes. And the impact to the bottom line isn't just the cost of time lost: businesses lose an estimated $4k in labor costs per employee, per year, to IT problems that a more integrated system could prevent. And the risks are real, 60% of former employees still have continued access because unchanged passwords let them back in. Electric has a proven and robust IT platform that gives small businesses using Justworks a suite of tools that align critical HR tasks with IT, closing security gaps and eliminating wasted time, without requiring deep technical expertise to do it. "Small businesses aren't scaled-down versions of enterprise companies, they need tools built for their reality," said Ryan Denehy, Founder & CEO of Electric. "This partnership gives Justworks members a way to handle the operational IT work that used to eat into their week, so they can spend more time on the people and culture decisions that actually grow their business." The expanded partnership reflects a broader shift already underway: HR and IT are converging, and businesses without a dedicated IT team need a way to keep up. Run a Google search for “why people hate payroll departments” and you’ll come across endless articles bashing human resources. Some of the many reasons commonly cited include overcomplicated processes, incompetence, and failure to address all but the least important problems. While not all companies lump payroll into HR, the criticisms can often still apply. Legacy software, inefficient procedures, and employee frustrations can be endemic to payroll. To solve these problems, most organizations should take a multi-pronged approach, addressing employee development, siloed or unwieldy workflows, and technology issues. Hire and train good employees, hand them well-crafted, up-to-date SOPs, and give them the tools they need to do their work quickly and accurately. Below is a look at some of the best ways to troubleshoot and optimize your payroll processes.1
