Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of HR leadership experience with a strong focus on partnering with retail leaders. Expertise in employee relations, performance/talent management, policy implementation, and compliance within retail, convenience store, or similar environments.
  • 5+ years managing teams and cross-functional projects as an HR Business Partner.
  • Proven leadership, change management, and organizational development capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team management skills tailored to a retail workforce.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Adaptability and agility in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic People & Culture partner to retail leaders, ensuring HR strategies align with retail-specific business priorities and store operations.
  • Drive programs that enhance team engagement and reinforce a positive, high-performing retail culture.
  • Collaborate with leaders to address employee relations, performance challenges, and recognition strategies in a retail setting.
  • Lead change management initiatives in areas like store expansions, organizational restructures, and new technology rollouts, including training and communication.
  • Oversee retail-focused HR programs and processes throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Use HR metrics to inform workforce planning, optimize staffing levels, and ensure effective talent development.
  • Advise on workforce planning, succession planning, and goal-setting tailored to retail teams’ needs.
  • Manage performance, compensation, and promotion cycles to attract and retain top retail talent.
  • Travel: Up to 60-80%.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in HR or Business Administration.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Experience with HR technology and data analytics tools.
  • Multi-state HR leadership experience in retail or similar customer-focused industries.
  • Familiarity with the cannabis or pharmaceuticals industry is a plus.
