Requirements
  • Demonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in the subject area.
  • Proficient in Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, or similar fields.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated experience with distance delivery.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational systems, North Slope Borough institutions and organizations, or Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.
  • Ability to interpret and represent North Slope community values, customs, and beliefs for the College.
  • Ability to interpret and represent College actions and western institutions to the North Slope community.
  • Ability to support Iḷisaġvik College’s mission.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics or another relevant discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Teach one to three foundational mathematics classes during Fall 2026, including Applied Math and Beginning Algebra modules.
  • Prepare and maintain updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum.
  • Utilize the student learning management system, Moodle/MyCampus.
  • Develop and submit the current course syllabus using the college template.
  • Prepare administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance records.
  • Evaluate student performance and timely submit midterm and final grades to the registrar.
  • Maintain office hours in person, by telephone, or online.
  • Participate in professional development as necessary to remain proficient in the college’s current technologies and learning platform.
  • Comply with college policies, procedures, administrative directives, and applicable state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Doctorate degree or equivalent in the area of instruction.
