Senior Developer-Software Engineering & Development (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, MA): Will serve as a senior level developer to work in the area of financial risk initiatives. Analyzes, designs, and develops software applications to support risk infrastructure. Specific duties of the position include: Controlling and/or providing solutions to single and/or multiple internal organizations, with minimal management guidance; Providing technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications to project schedule; Creating technical project plans and deliverables and monitoring task deadlines; Providing technical subject matter expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and resolving complex issues; Responsible for resolution, communication, and escalation of critical technical issues; Preparing user and systems documentation as needed; identifying and recommending Industry best practices; and Working in a team of agile developers on complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision. Hybrid-remote telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy.
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field; plus 6 years of pre- or post-Master’s progressive IT experience. Alternatively, will accept Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field; plus 8 years of post-Bachelor’s progressive IT experience.
Also must have: Demonstrated solid ability and skill in the following technologies at a design lead and developer level: IBM Mainframe, Enterprise COBOL, Enterprise PL/1, JCL, IBM Rational Developer for zOS, OPC, IBM DB2, VSAM, CA-DATACOM, SQL, SPUFI, Query Monitor, Data Studio, File Manager, Veracode, Fault Analyzer, Omegamon, IBM Debugger; Solid knowledge of Securities Finance and Risk Management; Demonstrated expertise on CICS and Batch Programming, API Programming, File Transfer methodologies – Connect Direct NDM, FTP, sFTP, MQ ; Demonstrated solid understanding of end-to-end software architecture, design, development and implementation; Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and build process, test automation and deployment; Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated experience writing, reviewing technology documents including user guides; Proven ability to work effectively on a team of agile developers on complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision; Ability to design/develop with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business analysts, scrum leads, developers and managers; and Ability to provide agile status notes on day-to-day project tasks (Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking the stated ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years or amount of experience required. Salary Range:
$157,643 - $160,000 Annual
