Requirements
  • A two-year technical degree in electrical or mechanical technology, or a minimum of five years of related education and practical experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of electronic schematics, measuring instruments, gages, and meters.
  • Ability to understand or determine engineering design concepts and intentions in addition to literal written specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision, with organizational and planning ability.
  • Practical experience with computers, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • General understanding and usage of Google Mail, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
  • Ability to lift equipment and frequently stand and bend.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment, including areas that are narrow and difficult to maneuver.
Responsibilities
  • Investigate product, test, and process issues that arise during manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot products, evaluate returned material, drive corrective actions, and support the manufacturing plant in meeting key metrics.
  • Maintain equipment, instruments, and apparatus required for quality control inspection.
  • Perform maintenance troubleshooting and recalibration of plant test equipment, fixtures, and master gages according to schedule.
  • Assist the supervisor and production lines in investigating quality-related problems involving disassembly or assembly, analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Investigate and document proposals for quality improvements or enhancements that improve factory performance.
  • Assist the supervisor and quality team in determining the usability or non-usability of nonconforming material at incoming inspection.
  • Provide general technical support and training for production personnel.
  • Provide timely, quality services and support to internal and external customers.
  • Independently identify problems and constraints affecting plant objectives.
  • Develop creative and effective solutions for identified opportunities.
  • Assist in maintaining plant documentation systems, including routings, bills of materials, tool logs, and calibration logs.
  • Work on projects assigned by the supervisor, conducting the necessary investigation and study to complete them successfully.
  • Maintain effective dialogue with employees to foster employee morale.
  • Support equipment and prevent downtime to meet the on-time delivery goal of 98.9%.
  • Identify cost-reducing components and equipment to enable the plant to operate at or below budget.
  • Repair and improve existing equipment to prevent defective products from shipping and achieve an assembly warranty return rate of 0.20% or lower.
  • Demonstrate safe behaviors to meet or exceed the plant's Occupational Safety and Health Administration recordable incident rate.
  • Provide production support to achieve an assembly first-pass yield of 95.0% or higher.
