Overland Park, Kansas-based registered investment advisory firm Mariner and AI technology firm Humanity Labs announced a five-year enterprise contract for robots to handle manual, routine duties equivalent to 700 full-time employees. Tasks include account opening, customer reporting, and billing. At $50,000 per year for one full-time equivalent AI "employee," Mariner's annual outlay is at least $35 million. Humanity CEO Andrei Pop said the AI workforce differs from other agentic tools as the robots "occupy seats and roles" at wealth management firms. Neither firm disclosed exact contract terms. Stephen Caruso of Cerulli Associates noted the deal demonstrates willingness by firms of Mariner's scale to invest in productivity through data.
Mariner names Brad Rollins as New chief investment officer. By Will Crow Posted July 30, 2026 Overland Park-based Mariner has promoted Brad Rollins to chief investment officer. Rollins has been with the firm for over 10 years and has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. He first joined Mariner in 2025, where he began as the director of portfolio implementation. "I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had over the past 18 years in this industry. I'm especially grateful for the colleagues, mentors, and teammates who have invested in me along the way," Rollins said in a LinkedIn post. "What excites me most is not the title. It's the opportunity to work alongside an exceptional investment team as we continue building an investment platform that helps our advisors and clients achieve their long-term goals." He has held several leadership roles at the wealth management company, most recently serving as deputy chief investment officer since 2025. Before he worked at Mariner, Rollins served as vice president at Adams Hall Wealth Advisors, a Tulsa-based firm that was acquired by Mariner in 2012. Rollins succeeds Katrina Radenberg as CIO. Radenberg, who spent over a decade with Mariner, has decided to leave the firm. She ended her time with Mariner in June, according to her LinkedIn profile. During her time there, she served as CIO since 2018. Last month, Mariner announced it had partnered with New York-based Humanity Labs to scale an artificial intelligence workforce equivalent to more than 700 full-time employees. In June, Mariner expanded its presence in Florida with the acquisition of Atlantic Wealth Partners, a firm with about $218 million in assets.
Financial advisers have significantly broadened their roles from transactional investment services to comprehensive life management support. - Now Address Caregiving for One in Four Americans. Financial advisers now address caregiving for nearly one in four Americans. Financial advisers have significantly broadened their roles from transactional investment services to comprehensive life management support. This structural shift reflects deeper integration of financial planning with caregiving, health, and personal decision-making. Brian Leitner of Mariner explained that over the past 25 years, financial advising evolved from focusing mainly on investments and insurance to encompassing tax minimization, estate planning, budgeting, and caregiving guidance. Mariner recently partnered with Cariloop, a caregiving support platform, to help clients and employees manage caregiving challenges. Marty Bicknell, Mariner's CEO, emphasized that advisers now show up for clients during critical life moments, acting as friends and confidants beyond traditional roles. With over 63 million Americans serving as caregivers - many supporting both parents and children - this expanded service addresses a growing and complex client need. Mariner's partnership with Cariloop remains ongoing as advisers continue to adapt to evolving client demands. This expanded advisory model could resonate in Montana's business environment, where multigenerational caregiving and rural healthcare access might increase demand for holistic financial support. Montana advisers may find that integrating caregiving guidance into their services aligns well with local family dynamics and broadens client relationships in meaningful ways. While the survey stops short of prescribing solutions, it paints a clear picture of strained retirement readiness amid inflation and market uncertainty. Wealth transfer strategies for families must account for both stages: the near-term spouse-to-spouse transition and the longer-term generational transfer that follows. Families who plan for only one stage often discover gaps when the other arrives. From 2020 to 2025, Montana's eight largest counties experienced a significant increase in residents aged 65 and older compared to those under 18. This demographic shift will impact local labor markets, healthcare, and housing needs across the state.
Mariner, a Kansas-based registered investment adviser managing over $630 billion in client assets, has partnered with technology provider Humanity Labs for a five-year engagement to deploy an AI workforce representing more than 700 full-time equivalents across its operations. The AI workforce will handle operational tasks across back, middle and front office functions, including client onboarding, account opening, compliance reviews, client reporting, billing and prospect onboarding. Humanity Labs describes its technology as a managed service providing an AI workforce that sits on top of existing tools and infrastructure. "Just about every firm in our industry has grown the same way: serve more clients, hire more people," said Marty Bicknell, Mariner's chief executive officer. "That model has a ceiling, and we decided to break it." Financial terms were not disclosed.

Posted June 12, 2026 Overland Park-based Mariner announced it has expanded its presence in Florida by acquiring Atlantic Wealth Partners, a firm with about $218 million in assets. Based in Jupiter, Florida, Atlantic Wealth Partners specializes in practice around serving first responders. The firm has built relationships with local police, fire rescue and emergency responders throughout Palm Beach and Martin counties. Atlantic Wealth Partners was founded in 2017 by Steve Olson. "Joining Mariner allows us to continue serving those clients while expanding the resources and capabilities available to them. We believe Mariner's commitment to first responders makes them a strong fit for our team and the people we serve," Olson said in a release. Through Mariner's subsidiary Mariner Institutional, the firm advises approximately $35 billion in assets across 256 retirement plans serving police, fire and public safety personnel. Mariner has also continued investing in resources dedicated to these communities, including the recent addition of Steve Callaghan, a former NYPD Bomb Technician and U.S. Navy veteran, as a senior wealth consultant focused on supporting first responders and their families. "Atlantic Wealth Partners has earned trust by understanding those realities and building lasting relationships within the communities they serve," Marty Bicknell, Mariner president and CEO, said in the release. "Their addition strengthens an important area of focus for Mariner and aligns with our purpose to positively impact the lives of many. Together, we will continue investing in the resources and expertise designed to help first responder families pursue their long-term financial goals."
