Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care to meet the psychosocial and physical needs of psychiatric patients
  • Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
  • Monitors patient behavior, reports changes to the nursing staff, and documents observations
  • Assists with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
  • Transports patients to various departments for diagnostic tests or treatment
  • Ensures patient rooms are clean, safe, and organized
  • Maintains accurate records and documents patient care activities according to hospital policies
  • Participates in patient treatment plans and therapeutic activities
  • Observes for environmental safety risks, including suicide prevention and infection control measures
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the care team to fostering a positive environment
