The Pratt Library has an opening for a Circulation Assistant II to work in the Central Library Circulation Department.This role involves engaging with the public, supporting circulation processes, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. The position also includes acting as a Passport Acceptance Agent.
This position will be required to work on evenings and weekends, as well as additional branch assignments. This position reports to the Circulation Manager.

Summary of Duties:
Customer Service: Greet library visitors, respond to questions, and provide information about agency procedures and operations.
Circulation Support: Manage routine tasks such as customer registration, issuing library cards, processing library materials, updating customer records, monitoring email, and occasionally other administrative duties.
General Administration: Organize office supplies, sort mail, and handle cash purchases.
Passport Processing: Serve as a Passport Acceptance Agent, including processing applications, taking photos, collecting fees, and maintaining the office schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
One (1) year of experience in customer support and/or administrative support.
One (1) year of experience with MS Office suite (Word and Excel) and Google Suite.
Experience using a variety of technologies including Internet browsers, digital resources, mobile devices, and standard office software and email.
Physical Requirements: Physical exertion such as standing; or recurring activities such as bending, crouching, reaching; pushing loaded book trucks; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a library or education setting.
Experience handling cash and cash payments.
Experience working with vulnerable populations or communities.
Experience using inventory control systems such as Sirsi Workflows, or other library management systems.
Experience providing user instruction/teaching customers to use resources or products.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read, interpret, and follow prescribed word processing operating instructions.
