Communications, Navigation, and Identification Engineer

As a Communications, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) Engineer, you know that leading-edge fighter aircraft technology and systems are critical to national defense. At Booz Allen, you can use your engineering expertise to develop next-generation defense tools and technology. We need your skills and expertise in communications, navigation, and identification and aviation systems and avionics engineering to develop creative solutions that directly impact the warfighter.

As a CNI systems engineer on our F-35 team, you’ll provide expertise in evaluating new technologies, performing risk assessments, and improving the design of aerospace systems. You’ll orchestrate the development of CNI systems through the full life cycle, from requirements determination through operations. Your experience in technology planning and DoD acquisition processes are key and make you an integral part of delivering a client-focused solution.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by evaluating, improving, and designing leading-edge aerospace technology for the F-35. You’ll work with a community of engineers across the firm and collaborate with clients to deliver world-class solutions for F-35 systems and evaluate new technologies for application in improving designs. Your engineering knowledge will help the Department of Defense expand and improve their capabilities to protect national security and the warfighter.

You Have: 

• 5+ years of experience with engineering in integration of aircraft weapons, communications, or sensor systems

• Experience with DoD acquisition processes, requirements development, and technology transition or insertion planning

• Ability to work independently and support an integrated product team

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Systems Engineering

Nice If You Have: 

• 7+ years of experience in a professional work environment

• Experience with 4th or 5th Generation U.S. tactical aircraft

• Knowledge of Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

• Knowledge of Earned Value Management

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Possession of excellent organizational skills

• Top Secret clearance

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Systems Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
