Network Administrator
The Opportunity:
A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable Department of Defense to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.
As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.
You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing, and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies.
Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Cryptographic equipment, key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, and SolarWinds, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:
2+ years of experience with architecting and designing IP networks, including developing and documenting network topologies
2+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining switches, routers, and other networking components
2+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls and crypto devices, including KG-175 TACLANEs and KG-250s
Experience with secret classified networks
Experience with installing, configuring, optimizing, and securing infrastructure components and applying STIGs
Ability to follow and work schedules using Agile Methodologies
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience with Windows Server OS 2019 and 2022, VMware, vSphere 8, Active Directory Domain Services, and Group Policy, Windows 10 and 11 administration, and managing Windows, including server setup, deployment, and maintenance or Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience with Windows Server OS 2019 and 2022, VMware, vSphere 8, Active Directory Domain Services, and Group Policy, Windows 10 and 11 administration, and managing Windows, including server setup, deployment, and maintenance
DoD 8570 IAT II Certification, including Security+ CE
Cisco and VMware technical Certifications
Nice If You Have:
Experience with SAFe Agile Methodologies
Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53
Experience with command-line interfaces, including YAML, UNIX shell scripting, or PowerShell
Experience as a field technician
Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and storage processes
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
