Requirements
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience, with a strong track record of building or substantially overhauling developer documentation for an API-first product.
  • Direct experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated, infrastructure-heavy B2B domain is a strong plus.
  • Strong information architecture skills, including designing documentation structures from scratch around how different audiences use them.
  • Comfortable in docs-as-code workflows and able to read code and API specifications well enough to verify behavior independently.
  • Able to work directly with engineers and product managers as a technical peer, ask sharp questions, push back on ambiguity, and understand underlying concepts.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, including clarity, consistency, brevity, and maintaining quality across content written by non-writers.
  • Hands-on experience with modern artificial intelligence tooling for writing and editing, with judgment about where it adds leverage.
  • A strong ownership mindset and confidence to define and deliver a high standard for documentation.
  • Fluent in English.
Responsibilities
  • Own Pliant’s developer documentation end-to-end, including API references, guides, recipes, quickstarts, and conceptual content for direct customers and embedded-finance partners.
  • Lead a full rework of the information architecture around the tasks developers and integrators need to accomplish.
  • Unify Direct and Partner API documentation into one coherent surface as the underlying APIs converge into the Pliant API.
  • Validate documentation hands-on by reading code and API specifications, calling endpoints, running integration flows, and identifying gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Establish and uphold documentation standards, voice and style guides, contribution models, and review processes.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering on API governance, including consistent naming, error handling, and endpoint behavior, and feed documentation learnings back into the platform.
  • Shape and improve the developer portal and documentation tooling to make publishing fast, content maintainable, and the reader experience effective.
  • Use modern artificial intelligence tooling to draft, restructure, identify blind spots, and maintain consistency while owning quality and accuracy.
  • Define and track quality signals such as time to first successful API call, support deflection on documented topics, content freshness, and documentation-related integration friction, and use them to prioritize work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional European languages are a plus.
  • Direct experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated, infrastructure-heavy B2B domain is a strong plus.

Thredd and Pliant launch U.S. commercial credit platform with embedded finance and API-driven reconciliation

Thredd has expanded its partnership with Pliant to launch a commercial credit programme in the US market. The collaboration brings Pliant's embedded finance platform, which offers physical and virtual credit cards with built-in reconciliation and spend controls, to American businesses for the first time. The programme is live on the Visa network with bank sponsorship from Coastal, following a soft rollout in late 2025. Pliant's platform combines credit issuance with lending decisioning and reconciliation tools, enabling businesses to manage expenses and reporting through a single solution. Berlin-based Pliant, founded in 2020, previously operated solely in Europe. The company is now expanding its executive leadership team in the US as part of its North American growth plans. The partnership leverages Thredd's API-driven issuer processing platform to enable cross-border expansion.
