Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel, is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages, is required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing retail automotive sales is required or must be learned.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in English is required.
  • Ability to use good judgment in challenging situations, pay attention to detail, follow up with guests and employees, work with the public, communicate professionally by phone, internet, and in person, and use standard office equipment is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record are required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive hand and finger motions is required.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear is required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including low and high temperatures, precipitation, and wind, and in noisy environments is required.
  • Ability to adjust, move, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment is required.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles is required.
Responsibilities
  • Generate business from the previous clientele database.
  • Assist guests inquiring about vehicles by phone by asking questions and listening to their responses.
  • Make outbound calls to set appointments from the dealership’s clientele portfolio.
  • Communicate with callers professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Follow up by phone with guests who previously visited the dealership to request their business.
  • Provide guests with vehicle pricing, including manufacturer’s suggested retail price, packages, and availability.
  • Explain product performance, application, and benefits to guests.
  • Introduce guests to dealership operations, including service and parts departments, and communicate the quality and efficiency of those operations.
  • Maintain daily activity records and reports.
  • Achieve sales objectives set by management.
  • Stay current on new products, features, accessories, and their benefits to guests.
  • Assist in other areas of the sales department as needed.
  • Perform specific administrative duties assigned by management.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and high ethical standards.
