Procurement Manager @ GeneDx

GeneDx is seeking a Procurement Manager, reporting to the Head of Supply Chain. The Procurement Manager’s primary responsibility will be to oversee a team of Procurement Specialists performing the purchasing function including the receipt and processing of purchase requisitions and procurement of services, supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as the management of existing vendor relationships.

This is a hybrid model; requesting the individual work onsite in Maryland at minimum 2-3 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the activities of Procurement staff, schedule and prioritize work activities.
Negotiates major supplier agreements/contracts for price, quality, timeliness and other factors.
Assists in establishing, maintaining and implementing procedures that comply with regulatory requirements.
Helps to develop business relationships with suppliers.
Expedite and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Write and analyze requisitions, invoices, supply requests and supply orders.
Work closely with all areas of upper management, accounting departments, finance departments, as well as outside vendors.
Support special and/or process improvement projects.
Works with internal and external auditor and/or regulatory agencies.
Ensures compliance with company authorized signature levels.
Resolves disputes or complaints / works with suppliers on correction actions.
Helps processes returns as needed.
Maintains purchase order logs and prepares monthly reports as needed.
Analyzes monthly/quarterly KPIs (metrics) to continuously improve cost, spend, and efficiencies.
Key contributor and driver of an annual STRAT plan to identify opportunities from a vendor base to supply replenishment, achieving JIT planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires High school and 10-12 years related experience; or AA and 8-10 years related experience; or BS and 5-8 years related experience.
Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. Must be familiar with Outlook.
Working knowledge of computerized Purchasing/Inventory Management/ERP systems. NetSuite preferred.
Experience working in a purchasing role in a healthcare or biotechnology company a plus.
Working Knowledge of GMP requirements.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
APICs or ISM certification a plus (CPIM, CPM, CSCP, CSCP).

Pay Transparency, Budgeted Range

$110,000—$115,000 USD
