Requirements
  • A four-year college degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Construction/Project Management, Planning, Facilities Management, or a related area.
  • Seven to ten years of project management and coordination experience in Move/Relocation Management, Project Management, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment coordination or procurement; in lieu of a four-year college degree, eleven to fourteen years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to read architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement.
  • Flexibility to work at any Los Angeles Community College District college and site location.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam software.
Responsibilities
  • Manage Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment for new, renovated, and swing-space projects, including programming, specification, drawing review, budget tracking, procurement coordination, scheduling with construction teams, installation, and punch-list activities.
  • Manage moves for projects, including move-scope creation, bidding, bid analysis, budget tracking, move coordination and scheduling, on-site move oversight, and punch-list activities.
  • Provide strategic oversight of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment programming, budgeting, quotes, procurement, scheduling, installation, pre-move, move, post-move coordination, and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to manage Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment purchasing using best-value or low-bid public contracting.
  • Work with the College Project Director, Project Architects, Relocation Project Management team, and Building User Groups to identify project scope, budget, schedule, and Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment requirements.
  • Tour the college to gain detailed knowledge of the master plan for new and renovated buildings and project sequencing.
  • Identify required swing space, coordinate with the college to secure it and remove it from availability according to the project schedule, and develop scopes of work for related construction or Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment.
  • Assess whether existing furniture and equipment should be relocated and reused.
  • Create Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment budgets and validate them at key project milestones.
  • Attend weekly project meetings to coordinate accurate Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment specifications, furniture layouts, and Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment lists for new and reused furniture.
  • Review programming, design, and construction documents and coordinate electrical, data, infrastructure, utility, and anchoring requirements among Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment vendors.
  • Plan relocation of existing furniture and equipment with Building User Groups.
  • Coordinate Information Technology equipment budgets, scopes, procurement, and installation with the Technology Project Manager, including identifying computer, multifunction input/output device, and printer locations on plans.
  • Ensure Furniture, Fixtures, and Move budgets and schedules are met and perform value engineering as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling logistics for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment delivery, installation, punch-list sign-off, and transitions during swing-space, relocation, and move-in projects.
  • Coordinate specialty contractors and movers for delivery, installation, and connections not covered by Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment vendors.
  • Coordinate deliveries, paths of travel, and parking with project managers, College Project Directors, contractors, Facility Directors, the Sheriff, and Building User Groups as applicable.
  • Coordinate asset tagging of new Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment and disposition of surplus equipment before demolition or renovation.
  • Arrange access, unlocking, and re-securing of areas used by furniture installers and movers during pre-move, move, installation, post-move, and closeout phases.
  • Coordinate transfer of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment keys and keying plans to campus facilities upon occupancy.
  • Maintain Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment, move-management, moving, and storage documents and submit proposals, purchase orders, packing slips, timecards, shipping documents, freight bills, and invoices to the College Project Director.
  • Coordinate closeout of the Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment and move-services portions of projects.
  • Provide project status reports and other requested information to the Relocation Project Management team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Educational and public works experience.
  • Procurement, Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment sourcing, or asset management experience.
  • Knowledge or proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Proficiency in Visio or design software.
  • Interior Design Certification, including CID or CCIDQ.
  • Membership with IIDA, AIA, or IFMA.
  • LEED certification.
