Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote)
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates New Employee orientation
  • Serves an active role in orientation to new employees through development and delivery of education as needed during New Employee Orientation
  • Develops and implements assessment tools for evaluation of new nursing staff
  • Evaluates unit orientation of nursing staff throughout the orientation process
  • Serves an active role in coordinating student/shadow experiences within the facility
  • Organizes and maintains CBL programming
  • Maintains verification of satisfactory completion of required in-service activity for entire hospital staff in accordance with JHACO standards
  • Maintains calendar of in-services and other educational opportunities
  • Assesses, develops, and maintains a program and process to assist the staff to remain competent
  • Maintains records of verification supporting nursing staff competence/completion of educational opportunities
  • Maintains records of educational opportunities provided to staff
  • Establishes and maintains positive and effective relationships and communications with personnel
  • Serves on committees as indicated
  • Delegates responsibility for in-services to qualified staff
  • Reports all performance improvement data
  • Assists in development, reviewing, revision and implementation of Nursing policies and procedures when appropriate
  • Initiates and participates in projects, research and education programs for the development and implementation of new and effective health and safety practices
  • Collaborates with nursing department coordinators to assess learning needs, and develop learning and competence assessments activities, as well as identify aspects of competence performance
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certifications
  • Two (2) years management/administrative experience including staff development
