UnitedHealth to buy medical group in sign Optum's still growing. UnitedHealth Group Inc. plans to acquire a 45-doctor medical practice in Massachusetts in a sign that its Optum division will keep adding doctors despite turmoil in the business. The company's Atrius Health affiliate has agreed to buy a Boston-area primary care group called Acton Medical Associates, PC, according to a notice posted by a Massachusetts regulator.
Similarly, Atrius Health purchased 20 Wall St. in Burlington, a 53,000 square foot medical office building, for $22 million in April.
Atrius Health is excited to announce that Atrius Health Inc will launch a new version of its public website, www.atriushealth.org, early this summer.
In March 2021, Optum agreed to acquire Newton, Mass.-based Atrius Health, which employs 645 physicians and primary care providers, for $236 million.
UnitedHealth Group subsidiary Optum signed a definitive agreement March 1 to acquire Atrius Health, a 715-physician group based in Newton, Mass.
