Note: This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month in our St Petersburg, FL Corporate Office.
Job Summary:
As part of the Reporting and Analytics team under IT Finance, the Financial Analyst will assist with monthly and quarterly reporting responsibilities including P&L, project reporting, balance sheet, Tollgate, and ad hoc reporting. Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating models for decisions and cost allocations for specific business units within the IT organization. Applies specialized domain knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Makes judgements and recommendations based on analysis and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Assists in identifying costs and developing methodology for accurate allocation across the organization.
Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
Assists in preparing organization-wide surveys using various financial tools and resources and reviews results with management.
Organizes financial information and prepares reports in a format that can be quickly reviewed by management.
Prepare standard financial statements and reports within the organization’s established systems to deliver required insights.
Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
Identifies potential process improvements to increase efficiency in processing or analyzing financial information.
Participates in the annual budget process by compiling cost information for business units to use in preparing budgets.
Assists in month end profit and loss post-closing procedures.
Analyzes and reconciles general ledger accounts to ensure proper classification and integrity of information.
Identifies potential impact of new departments, subsidiaries, products and other changes on job responsibilities.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills:
Financial services industry experience is a big plus.
Knowledge of accrual based accounting practices and accounting software packages.
Intermediate knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
Intermediate knowledge of cost allocation concepts and practices.
Skilled in preparing financial management reports.
Skilled in reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing financial information.
Skilled in using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and dashboards.
Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
Works under guidance (but not constant supervision) to acquire, organize, protect and process data to fulfill business objectives.
Uses an understanding of numerical concepts to perform mathematical operations such as report analysis with guidance (but not constant supervision).
Communicates with other people without requiring supervision and provides technical guidance when required on speaking in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
Occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends.
