Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of higher education, particularly private liberal arts universities and their missions.
  • Ability to project a positive image of the institution in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Understanding of admission and financial aid procedures and available academic opportunities.

  • Ability to travel districtwide, statewide, and to out-of-area territories for recruiting events or information sessions.
  • Personal transportation for recruitment visits, with costs reimbursed.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Availability for evening and weekend hours as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit and enroll prospective students in an assigned territory through the recruitment cycle.
  • Inform, advise, and counsel prospective students, secondary schools, community colleges, and other organizations about the university.
  • Build relationships with prospective first-year and transfer students and families to inform them about university programs, admission procedures, and financial aid opportunities.
  • Present information about the university, admission, and financial aid opportunities to various groups.
  • Plan and execute a schedule of visits and communications with contacts in an assigned territory.
  • Recommend admission and scholarship decisions in an assigned territory.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with territorial contacts using customer service and sales techniques.
  • Participate in on-campus visitation programs sponsored by the Admission Office.
  • Respond to inquiries and handle correspondence with prospective students in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist with general administrative and clerical duties as assigned by enrollment supervisors.
  • Coordinate an auxiliary program assignment such as student ambassador coordination, alumni admission, or faculty liaison work.
  • Travel to the assigned territory while maintaining stewardship of resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of general admission practices and industry trends.
  • Use a customer relationship management system to run queries, track prospects' progress through the enrollment process, and make data-driven decisions within the territory.
  • Follow strategies in the yearly recruitment plan to help meet territory goals.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Elmhurst University.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
