Requirements

  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision

  • Certification in Infection Control within 27 months
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology or related field (or the equivalent)
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon (for Registered Nurse applicants)
  • BLS certification must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 60 day grace period (For Registered Nurse only)
  • Minimally must meet current qualifications listed under section 'Clinical Laboratory Personnel Requirements' defined in the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Act of 1988 (CLIA-88) and Oregon Department of Human Services Regulations, College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission standards (for Medical Laboratory Scientist applicants)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science (Copy of academic degree or transcript will be required upon hire) (for Medical Laboratory Scientist applicants)
  • Registry as Medical Technologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent (i.e., certified in California, AMT with Human Health Service HEW & NCA) preferred (for Medical Laboratory Scientist applicants)
  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare, with progressive experience in the field of infection prevention
Responsibilities
  • Serves as Hospital Infection Preventionist and implements the Hospital Infection Control Program
Desired Qualifications
  • Registry as Medical Technologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent (i.e., certified in California, AMT with Human Health Service HEW & NCA) preferred (for Medical Laboratory Scientist applicants)
