Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience in a financial institution or consulting firm supporting Private Markets investment teams with portfolio monitoring and data analytics.
  • A thorough understanding of Private Markets data platforms, including reports, data dictionaries, and templates, and Private Markets business activities.
  • Experience with one or more of Bloomberg, Chronograph, MSCI RiskManager, BlackRock Aladdin, iLevel, Yardi, AllVue, Charles River, 73 Strings, Burgiss Caissa, BarraOne, and OmegaPoint.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or PowerPivot.
  • Experience selecting, designing, implementing, testing, or deploying portfolio monitoring, customer relationship management, and workflow business applications.
  • Knowledge of investment data management, including reference data, data quality improvement, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders to build trusted relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Experience documenting detailed business and reporting requirements.
  • Experience designing and performing reasonableness, accuracy, and completeness data validation checks.
  • Working knowledge of Extract, Transform and Load and Application Programming Interface tools in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience with investment operations and middle-office processes, business operations, project management, stakeholder management, change management, and executive communication.
  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Technology is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and own business and functional requirements for technology solutions, collaborate with investment teams and IT/Data, and sequence the design and implementation of scalable solutions, applications, and platforms.
  • Define and evolve the product roadmap for the business, prioritize capabilities, and work with IT to maintain and implement capabilities aligned with enterprise strategies.
  • Maintain and manage the product backlog for investment business applications, including portfolio management systems, customer relationship management applications, workflow applications, and business intelligence tools, ensuring proper prioritization, controls, and timely implementation.
  • Surface risks, dependencies, and process impacts, and work with stakeholders to create and implement solutions.
  • Understand IMCO investment strategies and asset-class activities and provide proactive solutions and guidance.
  • Assist with user training sessions and ad hoc walkthroughs covering core application functionality and use cases.
  • Articulate investment business data needs, assist in developing IMCO’s strategic data direction and master data management approach, and support historical data gathering, transformation, and onboarding.
  • Support data dictionary and definition cataloging, including incorporation of enterprise data domains and elements.
  • Summarize the application and data landscape, including data types, key identifiers, technology and business owners, points of origination, downstream users, usage frequency, and sources of truth.
  • Support the definition of data flows among third-party applications, the integrated platform, and various data sources.
  • Assist in developing a data validation framework to test the reasonableness, accuracy, and completeness of converted data within third-party applications and data feeds ingested into the integrated platform.
  • Identify business-line data needs and drive the procurement process in collaboration with enterprise procurement.
  • Develop timelines and detailed work plans to structure initiative-team planning and coordination of activities and resources.
  • Develop recommendations from data provided by multiple stakeholders and use data to support timely and effective decisions.
  • Create and execute structured change-management, stakeholder-management, and communication strategies.
  • Prepare materials for ad hoc projects, including focused analytics, research, and presentations.
  • Work with internal functions to improve processes and reduce risk.
  • Identify and resolve business breaks and workflow issues.
  • Partner with external service providers, including software-as-a-service vendors and consultants, and internal Front Office, Investment Operations, Finance, and IT/Data functions to integrate platforms and workflows.
  • Provide functional oversight and lead the detailed design, build, and support of the integrated platform.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience of being embedded in the business is highly desirable.
  • Master’s-level education or relevant designations such as CFA are highly desirable.

Simmons & Simmons has advised the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) on its acquisition of a significant minority interest in TIP Group (TIP) 28 July 2026 International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), one of Canada's largest institutional investors, on its acquisition of a significant minority interest in TIP Group (TIP), a leading pan European transportation equipment leasing and services platform. Headquartered in Amsterdam, TIP operates a fleet of around 90,000 trailers, trucks and specialised equipment and provides integrated leasing, rental, maintenance and repair, digital fleet solutions and used equipment sales to more than 15,000 customers. Its network spans over 130 locations across 17 countries, making it one of Europe's largest trailer leasing and equipment services businesses. The transaction, involving IMCO and global leader in alternative investments GCM Grosvenor acquiring a 25% minority interest from I Squared Capital, aligns with IMCO's infrastructure strategy focused on resilient businesses and stable cash flows. Completion is expected to take place Q1 2027, subject to regulatory and foreign investment approvals. Simmons & Simmons worked alongside leading Canadian law firm Torys to advise IMCO, with a cross border team led by London Partner Jason Daniel, drawing on the firm's wide infrastructure and private capital expertise with support across the firm's offices in the UK, Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy.
