- High School diploma or GED
- Forty (40) hours of classroom and laboratory instruction for Qualified Medication Aide requirements approved by the Indiana State Board of Health
- Completion of a supervised twenty (20) hour practicum in administering medication in a long-term care facility
- One hundred five (105) hours Certified Nursing Assistant Program as approved by the Indiana State Board of Health or equivalent as approved by the Indiana State Board of Health
- Must have name placed on Certified Nursing Assistant Registry at time of hire as required by the Indiana State Board of Health. Must be in good standing and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical & suppository drugs.
- Clearly identifies resident with proper medication.
- Checks and prepares each dose immediately preceding administration.
- Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, etc.
- Promptly communicate with Charge Nurse and leadership team with any changes in the resident’s condition.
