Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the branch.
  • Lead one or more branch areas, including overseeing loan review processes, supervising the branch collections process, mentoring newer staff in Member Services Officer operations, or leading another area identified by management.
  • Act as a liaison to Loss Mitigation and submit required reports on collection efforts conducted by branch staff.
  • Serve as a resource for specialized deposit accounts and survivor relations.
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Originations with non-mortgage loan origination functions.
  • Comply with all credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of member information and access member accounts only for business purposes.
  • Follow all security and control procedures.
  • Assist members with all areas of consumer lending.
  • Review and approve loans within lending limits that exceed the limits of less experienced staff.
  • Contact members and document efforts regarding deposit and loan collection reports as directed by management.
  • Serve members by processing transactions in the appropriate system.
  • Apply SECU Check Acceptance Guidelines and hold procedures.
  • Greet and assist members courteously, professionally, and promptly through in-person, telephone, and digital service channels.
  • Assist with balancing automated teller machines, teller cash dispensers, and coin sorters.
  • Help verify and prepare cash deliveries and shipments as directed by management.
  • Interact with other departments to facilitate member requests.
  • Organize, file, and scan documents daily.
  • Process foreign and domestic wires.
  • Open and maintain all account types for new members while following Member Identification Procedures.
  • Open and maintain tax-advantaged accounts, process foreign and domestic wire transfers, redeem savings bonds, and help order and return foreign currency.
  • Troubleshoot member account, card, and online-access problems, including processing disputes.
  • Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Provide quality referrals based on knowledge of basic Financial Advisory and Real Estate Services.
  • Review various reports and take appropriate action.
  • Establish and facilitate member safe-deposit-box access.
  • Perform subsequent advances on existing open and home-equity lines of credit.
  • Provide Notary Public Services as assigned.
  • Provide employee support in resolving member and procedural problems.
  • Independently research and resolve member complaints.
  • Assist with supervision of the Member Services Officer area, including ensuring credit union policy and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist the Member Services Manager with reconciliation of Member Services Representative items, including end-of-day balancing and outage reconciliation.
  • Organize community events as requested by management.
  • Participate in additional training and continuing education.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years of directly related experience is strongly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree, Certified Credit Union Executive Certification, or Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina Community College Transfer Program is preferred.

SECU partnership helps South Piedmont students stay on track and build financial confidence. Balancing classes, work, and finances is one of the biggest challenges college students face. Thanks to a partnership between South Piedmont Community College and State Employees' Credit Union (SECU), South Piedmont Community College is helping students ease that burden through scholarships, financial education, and resources designed to support success both in college and beyond. Through SECU's support, South Piedmont students have access to scholarships that help cover educational costs and reduce financial stress. The People Helping People Scholarship supports students pursuing associate degrees, while the Bridge to Career Scholarship assists students working toward certificates and workforce credentials. These scholarships help students stay enrolled, focus on their coursework, and move closer to their career goals. Through the SECU Foundation's Mission Development Grant Program, MHCDC will have the opportunity to strengthen internal capacity, expand its reach, and continue building sustainable pathways toward housing stability and economic empowerment. The SECU Foundation's Mission Development Grant Program is designed to provide capacity building assistance to organizations committed to serving North Carolina communities. Over two days, Karrissa Sutton, Housing Counseling Program Manager & HUD-Certified Housing Counselor, and Julius Oden, Housing Counselor, led a four-hour class designed to equip students with the knowledge and tools needed to build financial stability and prepare for long-term success. On September 9, 2025, I attended the Re-entry Simulation hosted by Trillium in Martin County. What I thought would be a structured exercise quickly became one of the most eye-opening and impactful experiences I have had in understanding the struggles faced by individuals re-entering society after incarceration. The event began with powerful insights from Judge Regina Parker, Chief District Court Judge for District 2, and Jeron Randall, Reentry Coordinator, who spoke about the systemic challenges justice-involved individuals encounter immediately after release. Their remarks set the tone for the simulation, preparing Metroprop for the weight of the choices Metroprop would soon face. I was handed a packet that represented the life of someone just released. In it, I learned whether I had identification, housing, or education, along with a list of my release obligations such as rent, child support, probation check-ins, and mandatory drug screenings. To make things more difficult, I drew a "wild card" that simulated a learning impairment, making it harder to understand key instructions. Secu Foundation Awards $500,000 Grant For Expansion Of Community Crossroads Center In Pitt County

GREENVILLE, N.C., Jan. 09, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Community Crossroads Center (CCC) has been awarded a $500,000 challenge grant by SECU Foundation to help expand its campus in Pitt County. The construction of a new Homeless Resource Center and renovation of CCC's current facility will enable the non-profit to increase shelter space and comprehensive services for individuals experiencing homelessness. Established in 1987, CCC provides safe housing, meals, and supportive services to individuals in need. CCC's current space constraints have resulted in long waitlists, hindering the non-profit's ability to provide critical resources amid increased demand for services. SECU Foundation assisted CCC in 2014 with an interest-free construction loan through the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency to build its current shelter
