Requirements
  • At least 5-10 years of experience working in a governance, regulatory compliance, or legal role related to financial services regulation concerning conduct and culture in Australia or the United Kingdom.
  • Experience working in or providing services to a regulated financial services business, with the ability to interpret and apply associated legislative requirements.
  • Sound understanding of and ability to operate within legal, risk, and compliance frameworks, including the ability to consider compliance strategically and take a commercial approach when required.
  • Ability to provide value-added advice to the business regarding risk-culture behaviours and consequences, controls, processes, and administrative matters.
  • Ability to analyse data, undertake root-cause analysis on risk-behaviour indicators, and collate and prepare reports concerning risk-culture profiles, compliance plans, statutory requirements, regulatory fund lodgements, incidents, and audit risk-culture data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Appropriate approval to work in Australia.
  • Ability to complete a criminal and bankruptcy check before commencing employment.
Responsibilities
  • Actively identify potential financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks across business operations.
  • Implement and uplift risk-management practices and controls, adhering to established policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and regularly report risk exposure to senior management and risk committees.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk management.
  • Work closely with Line 2 and Line 3 teams to ensure an integrated approach to risk management.
  • Support risk and compliance business-as-usual activities.
  • Engage stakeholders across MSAL business and risk teams and manage stakeholder feedback on Stream 3 deliverables.
  • Create evidence and deliverable packages to support approval criteria in the remediation plan.
