About the Role
The AV VC Systems Engineer is responsible for the high-level design, strategic planning, implementation, and support of advanced audiovisual (AV VC) systems. This role involves working within a team of AV Engineers and collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, creating detailed design documents, overseeing the deployment of AV VC solutions, and providing technical support to ensure optimal system performance and user satisfaction.
What the Candidate Will Do
Systems Design and Planning:
- Develop comprehensive AV system designs based on user requirements and by room types.
- Create detailed schematics, layouts, and documentation for all AV installations.
- Evaluate and select appropriate AV technologies and components.
Project Implementation:
- Lead AV projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of AV systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and quality assurance checks.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for AV systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, coordinating with manufacturers and vendors as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all AV systems and configurations.
Client Engagement and Training:
- Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to understand client needs and propose suitable AV solutions.
- Conduct client demonstrations and presentations to showcase AV system capabilities.
- Train clients and internal staff on the operation and maintenance of AV systems.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AV.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.
- Contribute to the development of AV standards and protocols within the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in AV systems design, installation, and support.
- Proven experience in managing AV projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems and components, including projectors, sound systems, and control systems.
- Fundamental understanding of AV system schematics, layouts, and documentation.
- Experience with AV system installation and configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving AV system issues.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications such as AVIXA CTS-D (Design) or CTS-I (Installation), Crestron Certified Programmer, or equivalent.
- Continuous learning mindset with the ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance system performance and user experience.
- Experience contributing to the development of AV standards and protocols within an organization.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
