  • Formal or informal experience with teaching or mentoring
  • Previous developmental editing experience
  • Comfort with building and maintaining author relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and learning new technology and concepts quickly
  • Strong interest in learning about front end languages, front end server web application setup, deployment, software development, and the developer community
  • Solid front end languages and css experience
Responsibilities
  • Publish tutorials about real world projects in the areas of software development, front end languages and techniques from authors all over the world
  • Deliver editorial notes to help authors improve the technical details, explanations, and quality of writing in each tutorial to ensure the best outcomes for our learners
  • Test the tutorials you publish to ensure they work for our learners
  • Build and maintain relationships with authors to encourage repeat contributions
  • Assisting with maintenance of the current DigitalOcean library: updating older articles, adding additional information to current articles, and occasionally producing new content as necessary
  • Evaluate writing samples and proposed tutorial topics for interest to the open-source community, value in teaching readers how to code at different levels of technical difficulty, and practical utility
  • Learn about front end technologies, new and upcoming languages and technologies, and software development. An interest in technical growth is a must!
