  • A Ph.D. degree in the field of biology, immunology, or related scientific discipline with ideally 1-2 years of post-graduate training or industry experience
  • Research experience in inflammatory & autoimmune diseases, molecular immunology, infectious diseases, neuroimmunology and/or cancer immunotherapy is highly desirable
  • A clear track record of scientific accomplishments
  • A sophisticated understanding of experimental design and the ability to identify scientific problems as well as potential solutions
  • Evidence of sustained independent thinking as well as creativity in developing novel scientific ideas and technologies
  • Ability to understand and interpret large multi-dimensional (e.g. multi-OMICs) datasets is desired
  • Develop therapeutic hypotheses for autoimmune disease(s) based on literature discoveries, in vitro experimental data, in vivo animal modeling, genetics, clinical and translational data, and technological advances
  • Collaborate alongside a cross-functional team that includes immunologists, chemists, computational chemists, biochemists, in vivo biologists and proteomics experts to discover new targets, derive new biological mechanistic insights, and support programs as they move through clinical development
  • Learn, develop, trouble-shoot and execute cell line-based and/or primary cell-based experiments (mouse, monkey and human) such as genetic manipulations, western blots, ELISAs, cytokine analyses, flow cytometry immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, qPCR, RNA-seq, etc. to drive early discovery efforts
  • Design sophisticated cross-disciplinary experiments within project teams to enable the progression of therapeutic candidates through the drug discovery pipeline
  • Excellent communication, record keeping, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills are required
  • Travel will be less than 5% of the time
Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience in tissue culture handling of cell lines and/or isolation, culture, and characterization of primary immune cells from human or animal tissues is required. Expertise in T cell biology and differentiation is a plus
