Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related electrical experience.
  • Must possess a valid State of Maine Master Electrician’s license (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
  • Ability to lift/exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, and 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid State of Maine driver’s license.
Responsibilities
  • Install equipment like transformers and switchgear while following all safety rules and codes.
  • Check and repair both high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
  • Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams for motors, pumps, and valves.
  • Work with engineers and managers to ensure new building projects are completed correctly.
  • Determine materials needed for a job.
  • Maintain digital records.
  • Occasionally review the work of other staff or contractors.
