View

Lutheran Senior Services is a faith-based, not-for-profit network that serves older adults (ages 62 and up) by offering a range of services and programs designed to enhance their quality of life. Its products are services for seniors, including housing support, care programs, and community activities, delivered through a mission-driven organization. The approach centers on providing elder-focused assistance and community resources rather than consumer tech products; activities and services are coordinated to meet the needs of aging adults in a faith-inspired framework. The organization differentiates itself from competitors by its nonprofit, faith-based mission and networked service model, rather than for-profit senior care providers, and by supporting older adults through a continuum of care and community engagement. The goal is to help older adults live well, stay connected, and receive compassionate care as they age, guided by values of service and faith.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • GUIDE creates a reimbursable Medicare pathway for care coordination and caregiver support.
  • The model can strengthen hospital and clinician referrals through community resource coordination.
  • Memory-support communities can improve occupancy and support premium pricing.

What critics are saying

  • GUIDE depends on a voluntary CMS model running only through 2032.
  • Eligibility excludes memory-care-unit residents and long-term nursing home residents.
  • Execution demands specialized staffing, design, and training before revenue is proven.

What makes Lutheran Senior Services unique

  • EverTrue won CMS selection for the GUIDE dementia-care model in July 2024.
  • Its Memory Support concept combines residential design with dementia navigation and respite services.
  • The Netherlands-inspired village model creates a distinctive, environment-based memory-care offering.
