Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Three to five years of related work experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods.
  • A fundamental understanding of trade management and category management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to adapt, work independently with minimal supervision, solve problems independently, and exercise good judgment.
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet tight timelines, with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Planning, organizing, multitasking, time management, problem analysis, decision-making, and solution-oriented skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Support communication between headquarters and field sales and partner with cross-functional teams and retail partners to understand needs and drive alignment and execution on U.S. channel sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with the annual sales planning process for field sales.
  • Support the Director of Sales Planning & Strategy in developing, communicating, and executing cross-functional annual planning materials covering marketing, innovation, trade, category management, operations, and finance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities, focusing on distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing metrics.
  • Work with headquarters cross-functional teams and field sales to drive profitable growth with existing customers and identify opportunities with new customers.
  • Assess risks and opportunities across the U.S. market using trade and category management knowledge.
  • Help develop category objectives and priorities, develop programs and execution tactics to achieve them, and monitor program results through post-event recaps.
  • Conduct weekly connection calls with Tier 1 customer teams and bi-weekly calls with Tier 2 customer teams.
  • Coordinate and lead the monthly sales update share-out for the U.S. sales team and leadership.
  • Provide sales execution expertise to the cross-functional team during the new-item commercialization process.
  • Develop and maintain trackers for key U.S. sales initiatives, including innovation, category review timing, display forecasting, and special packs.
  • Maintain the SharePoint “Life Preserver” site, including updating sell decks, specification sheets, and product images before innovation launches.
  • Coordinate and manage retail tools for the sales team, including IRCs, point-of-sale materials, and corrugate displays.
  • Work with marketing and category management partners to ensure category stories and new-item sell stories are created with a customer lens.
