Functional Tester
Key Role:
Work in tandem with the software development team to validate, document, test, and deploy applications. Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in identifying and preventing defects in these products and services on a continuous basis. Work with software engineers, system engineers, and DevOps engineers for the correction of any defects found to avoid problems when delivering solutions to customers.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a software engineer or tester with the creation of test cases, test suites, requirements matrices, and end-of-test reports
Experience with analyzing and documenting software test results
Experience with working in an Agile environment and with application life cycle management (ALM)
Ability to support efforts to test the solution for accessibility and usability compliance
Ability to analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities
Ability to translate detailed designs into application systems
Ability to test, debug, and refine applications to produce the required product
Ability to manage discrepancies identified during testing and collaborate with the software development team to resolve software bugs
Ability to prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
Bachelor’s degree

Experience with Agile SDLC
Ability to enhance applications to improve performance and add functionality
Ability to assist with the development of overall test plan and other test artifacts
Ability to set testing schedules and provide progress or status to project management and client stakeholders
Ability to identify, record, and help to manage defects for resolution and communicates any testing issues or risks to Developer and Test Lead
Ability to identify developer guidelines to support Section 508, prevent usability problems, create a process for identifying potential compliance issues and documenting issues in user stories for prioritization by the client for resolution and pro-active testing for Section 508 compliance for functionality available to end-users, and create 508 test artifacts
508 Certifications, including Trusted Tester

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
