Requirements
  • Proven experience in production management, with a focus on fabrication, assembly, metal finishing, wood finishing, and quality control, ideally within the custom or artisan product industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a skilled team of artisans and production staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and project management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with production management software (ERP systems such as NetSuite is a plus).
  • A passion for craftsmanship and a deep understanding of the artisan manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of artisans and production staff, ensuring that all production tasks are completed on time and to specification.
  • Identify and resolve any QC issues that arise during the production process, maintaining high standards throughout.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring a smooth workflow from pre-production to final assembly and shipping.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure custom orders meet client specifications and that all technical details are communicated clearly.
  • Evaluate materials procurement and inventory to ensure the timely availability of necessary components for production.
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure consistency across all products.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to ensure that production KPI targets and company objectives are met.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Track and report on production performance, highlighting issues and proposing solutions for continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in lighting, furniture, or other custom, high-end product manufacturing.
