Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of fiscal, administrative, personnel, budgeting, financial analysis, clinical operations, and research project administration.
  • Ability to manage personnel administration, including recruitment, hiring, supervision, performance evaluation, compensation, progressive discipline, termination, employee rights and benefits.
  • Ability to manage clinical, administrative, and financial activities across the divisions.
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and track statistical measures and reports.
  • Ability to oversee procurement and purchasing functions and ensure compliance with university finance, accounting, and procurement policies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and managerial support for all aspects of administration in the General Neurology and Headache divisions.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate fiscal, administrative, and personnel functions within the divisions.
  • Prepare and administer capital and operating budgets with the department finance team.
  • Review monthly department and hospital reports, identify trends, explain variances, and monitor and control expenses.
  • Develop, interpret, and track provider productivity measures and reports.
  • Provide oversight of division operations and collaborate with leaders to create workflows that reduce waste and improve patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate institutional resources to resolve IT, finance, space, and patient-related issues.
  • Communicate clinical scheduling and communication issues.
  • Partner with the Practice Administrator and Nurse Manager to support clinic operations and scheduling.
  • Monitor schedule utilization, physician productivity, and patient access, and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Represent the divisions on the Ambulatory Clinical Council.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction results and work with Chiefs to resolve patient issues.
  • Provide guidance to faculty and staff on personnel administration matters.
  • Manage, develop, and train office clerical staff and allocate workload priorities.
  • Monitor staff compensation levels.
  • Provide operational support to research projects, including hiring research support staff and procuring goods and services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the division's research portfolio and support research project documentation.
  • Oversee procurement and purchasing for division accounts, including reconciliation, problem resolution, and revenue and expense analysis.
  • Recommend actions to faculty and staff regarding compliance with university finance, accounting, and procurement policies.
  • Coordinate fellowship programs by assisting with fellow recruitment, orientation, scheduling, reimbursements, certifications, and compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree.
  • Six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing annual capital and operational budgets.
