Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Roamer, 50% travel within NCR, 50% remote.

Position Summary:
Everfox is one of the world’s most significant private cybersecurity software and professional service companies. As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator at Everfox, you’ll join our growing professional services engineering team. The work is challenging and provides support to a single customer. Supporting this customer will require you to troubleshoot and resolve various issues independently. While you’ll have access to other DBA staff, you’ll be expected to be a self-starter and multitask while communicating effectively with the customer and Everfox management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting medium to large-scale Oracle databases.

What You'll be Doing:

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard.

• Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching.

• Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.

• Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance.

• Providing on-demand support for database-related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues.

• Working with the product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location.

• Working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to resolve issues with onsite products as a first line of support.

• Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or security controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports.

• Installing firmware updates on physical components such as DellEMC or HPE servers and SANs.

• Communicating daily with customers and Everfox management, providing detailed activity summaries and in-depth trip reports where applicable.

• Assisting in the lifting/racking and cabling of physical hardware. **

• Possibility of 10% or less travel to customer coop site locations in VA and MS.

What Environment You’ll Be Supporting:

The information below represents a high-level overview of the environment(s) you will support.

Environment #1

• Database Configuration: Primary and Secondary Oracle 19c database servers leveraging Oracle Data Guard on physical hardware.

• Database Size: 100TB, with growth at a rate of 2TB per month.

Things You Must Have to Apply:

• An active (currently in use) – TS/SCI

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and work experience.

• At least one DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT level II (2) or higher.
  (These are required only for DoD professional services roles.)

• The ability to obtain the appropriate work authorizations required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable U.S. government agency.

8+ years’ experience performing the following tasks:

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard.

• Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching.

• Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.

• Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance.

• Providing on-demand support for database-related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues.

• Deep understanding of the following information technology areas:

  • Oracle RDBMS, partitioning, text indexing, grid, ASM, RMAN, SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting in support of automation and nightly processing jobs.

  • Routing, switching, firewall rules, and TCP/UDP/SSH/FTP/SCP/HTTPS protocols.

  • Creating, renewing, installing, and troubleshooting secure certificates for web servers/sites, appliances, or networking hardware.

  • Server hardware installation, maintenance, and patching.

Things That Would Be Nice to Have:

• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GovCloud, or Google Cloud.

• Experience working with N-Tier architecture.

• Experience with Java application servers.

• Oracle Certifications, such as OCA, OCP, and OCM.

• Certifications from Cisco, McAfee, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, Symantec, or VMware

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:

$151,800.00-187,499.00 USD

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
